Activity Caterpillar
I have to confess that we have been referring to this toy as 'Mr Centipede' ever since we gave it to Lily so I am quite embarrassed to admit that it is actually called an activity caterpillar! Ooops! Well, regardless of what type of insect this is supposed to be, one thing is for sure – Lily loves this toy.
Given to her by one of my good friends (whose own daughter had enjoyed playing with it), the toy had an instant appeal with Lily. His four colourful and patterned legs, with textured, crinkly feet encourage play as does his equally crinkly hat and the fact that he rattles when shaken.
As her hand, eye co-ordination improves so does Lily's ability to explore this toy with her hands. It also ends up in her mouth a lot as she tends to see anything as a potential teether (apart from actual teethers – go figure!). Because it has ended up in her mouth, there has inevitably been times when Lily has dribbled or worse still been sick on the toy. Thankfully a quick wipe down with the a soapy sponge cleans it up. It dries pretty quick – yesterday it went out on the washing line for a few hours which dried it a treat.
Available for under ten pounds, this is an inexpensive toy for a little un and has proved very popular with mine. It's a must- pack toy whenever we are out or about or staying over at friends or family.
