Baby Walker
Lily has two older cousins and her parents have been kind enough to give us a number of baby products that their two children - at 19 months and 9 years old - have outgrown. This baby walker was used by both cousins and isn't looking too bad for being nearly a decade old!
We didn't even attempt to put Lily in this until she was over 6 months old and to begin with she just sat in it not really knowing what to do, apart from bang the tray! Eventually, with a little bit of coaching from Mummy and Daddy, she realised she could put her feet to the floor and do little steps. Not forward steps, though! Instead we got some interesting backwards steps combined with a few crab-like sideways steps!
Slowly but surely she has got the hang of it and now does little steps forward. She seems to particularly enjoy me putting a number of smaller toys on the tray for her to bash together. And of course throw on the floor!!
Right now the walker is on the lowest setting but it can be adjusted as Lily's legs grow so I am sure she will get lots more use out of it as she gets older and gets even more confident on her feet.
The walker does flatten when not in use but we tend to leave it upright despite the fact that it takes up a little bit of space in the living room.
