Welcome to my site. I figured it would be a good idea to break the ice by telling you all a bit about me and how I came to create this website. So here goes! 

I became a mummy to a beautiful little girl, Lily, last December and have, like any new mummies, spent the first few months trying to get used to all the responsibilities that such an important role demands. I can quite honestly say that being a mum is one of the most tiring and stressful jobs I have ever undertaken - but boy is it rewarding!!

As I'm sure many of you will agree, you have to start considering what you are going to need for your little one, long before he or she has arrived! (despite my superstitious mum who didn't think I should be buying a single thing until our baby had arrived safely!). I personally felt pretty overwhelmed with what was out there. I had never even considered how many bottles there were to choose from for instance. Or what kind of steriliser would be best. And then there was the question of where my little one would sleep - moses basket or crib? And what sort of monitor? The questions kept coming the more I looked into what was out there.

There are, of course, a whole plethora of websites (online only or attached to a chain of stores) more than happy to give you information on products but it can become totally confusing as one site will suggest something is the bees knees, while another promotes an alternative product as the cream of the crop!! A lot of the details on the product come direct from the supplier and while such information is helpful, it doesn't give you a mother's perspective. Which is where I come in.

I thought it might be helpful to all you mums and dads (or indeed prospective mums and dads) if I gave you an insight into what we bought for our little girl in the early stages and indeed what we are now purchasing as she grows. Essentially, I am creating an online product catalogue, with the added bonus of genuine reviews as everything listed has been tried and tested by yours truly!! I have tried, whereever possible, to use my own photos of the products in our own home. I don't proclaim to be a photographer so you'll forgive me if they look a little amateurish!  

I'll be 100% honest and will highlight the pros and cons of each product so that you have a rounded opinion to help guide you when you make those essential baby purchases. I also invite you to add your product reviews if you have encountered any of the products listed. You may well disagree with my review - if so, share your experiences here. Not every product works for every baby; after all each of our little ones is unique and their needs and tastes may well differ.
